I have a 50 HP Honda on a 13' Dinghy that would cavitate when I hit the power. Adding the hydorfoil stopped the cavitation and let the boat come right up on plane. the boat rides very level and perfoms very well now. Best of all, it was very easy to intall and fit well.

The only fall back to this item is the 2 little speed tabs fall off the 1st time you use the item. I contacted Sting Ray directly and they sent me some more. They fell off also. Design flaw in my opinion. Product will let my 17 foot jon boat with a 50 horse 4 stroke plane at 12 mph. Excellent. Did lose 2 mph top end however for some reason.

Before the Sting Ray my little 4 stroke 60hp took forever to get on plane with two guys and a full load now with the Sting ray the boat planes very quickly and with just me its almost instant. I did lose a few top end MPH but i can live with that. Very glad I purchased this product. It did not mount to my merc without modification however the mods it took still took less than 30 min but i am a very experienced fabricator. someone without experience could make it work as long as you have a dremel and a drill and a little thinking.
