I am very please with my Vortex. Craftsmanship is outstanding and very well designed. I got it sighted in in 3 shots. I would and will recomend Excalibur products to everyone.

It's obvious that the Excalibur team puts great pride and workmanship into this crossbow.
The Vortex has the pistol grip, which some might not like because of one's thumb being blocked from the safety lever, thus causing more hand movement at the time of the shot. However, the Vortex with its pistol grip design offers better ergonomics for the type of shooting hold that I use and need in the woods.
I ended up buying all of the "gadgets" that go with the bow. The silencing device(s), cheek rest and stock extentions, case, etc. They are top quality and finish off the bow nicely. They really should be part of the bow from the start, but that's how companies make money, (by selling the accessories). When it's all done, you will have dropped the better part of a grand ($1000.00 U.S.) into a nice crossbow.
I cannot see this bow wearing out, provided the owner keeps it maintained properly with the rail/serving lube, etc. and takes proper care of it.

I have had many Compound type Crossbows and I still Have One but, the Excalibur Vortex that I Purchased From Black Bear Sporting Goods is the Ultimate Shooting Crossbow I Simply Love It
