A "nice to have", but maybe not a "need to have" item for the Vortex. At 5' 10", 180 lbs., medium frame, I use the full length addition with no problem. It balances the bow nicely, though it is very light weight. It attaches easily, so if you do not like it, take it off and keep it with your accessories for the day you think you want it again. IF you ever sell your bow, it might make the difference for the person who might buy it.
